关于香港喜帖街的一些背景

喜帖街，原名利东街或称印刷街，位于香港岛湾仔区，是一条很有生命力的街，是香港著名的印刷品制作及门市集中地，尤其以印刷喜帖著名。地面上主要是印制喜帖的铺户（是各种场合的「喜」而不止是结婚的「囍」）；楼上的居民，则大都住了大半辈子，经长时间的相处，楼上楼下有很深厚的认识。

由于市区重建计划，利东街道的业权现已被收回，并已于2005年11月6日凌晨零时起复归政府所有，使印刷店绝迹。当地居民现正争取在重建计划中保留喜帖街的特色。

利东街作为喜帖街或印刷街的主题，是香港其他地方找不到的。而在地下的印刷店，善用了唐楼的特点，发展出厂店合一的一站式销售服务。店铺的外半部为陈列室和接待及销售处，内半部则为印刷的厂房。

而且利东街的建筑，除面向庄士敦道及皇后大道东的数栋为高楼外，全为1950年代至1960年代的唐楼；整齐划一，而且天台相通。

1950年代，香港政府将印刷店集中在位于湾仔南部，位于庄士敦道及皇后大道东之间的利东街，有传目的是方便监管，以防它们 印刷非法物品。

漫漫的，这些小店发展各种型式的印刷品，例如信封、信纸和名片。
1970年代，不少印刷店亦开始印刷各式各样的喜帖、利是封及挥春等.1980 年代在香港逐渐为人所知.2004年初，香港政府计划重新开发此区，并命名为H15。此举引起了当地居 民的一些反弹，并与政府协商保留这段历史意义浓厚的喜帖街。

2005年11月5日，政府正式回收利东街的业权，大部份楼宇已经重门深锁，十室九空。

由于整条街道有很多印刷店可供选择，因为成为了很多香港人采购印刷品的首选之地，甚么吸引到不少外地游客慕名而 来，购买一些富有中国特色的印刷品留为纪念。

曾是印刷喜帖的街道，见证着无数新人的美满婚姻，但由于重建计划，现在街道已经日渐式微，再也很难恢复到原来的样子了。“别再看　尘封的喜帖　你正在要搬家”，也正在诉说着其中的无奈吗？

喜帖街的后续发展

香港市区重建局于2007年12月公布，决定把香港湾仔利东街(已经拆除的喜帖街）命名为“姻园”，建成婚嫁特色街。其中３幢唐楼（香港早期的一种混合了中式及西式风格的特色建筑）将翻新成“中西婚嫁传统文物馆”，展现历代婚嫁传统习俗。“姻园”还将附设婚嫁公园。 所有原先在利东街经营的喜帖店铺，都能优先租赁“姻园”的铺位。

“姻园”的设计和布置都围绕婚嫁这一主题，并提供约３０００平方米零售用地。除了喜帖店铺外，该处还将提供与婚嫁有关的商品和服务，包括婚纱、礼服、鲜花、礼饼、发型设计、珠宝首饰、影楼、房车租赁、婚宴舞会统筹服务以及场地布置等。“姻园”附近的部分空地还有切合婚嫁主题的装饰布置和艺术雕塑摆设。

Company Dinner and Dance 2009

i just back from the company annual dinner, Dinner and Dance (DnD). This was the first time I joined the company annual dinner, and i was surprised by the number of staffs in the company. 30 tables of staffs attended this great event, and i was one of them. 

The theme for this year was Treasure Island, which people may dress as a pirates, just like Jack Sparrow, with a parrot on the shoulder. I didn't rent a costume for this event, therefore i only dressed just like normal working day. Some of them were fabulous, with nice and excellent pirates' clothes, which beyond my imagination. There were a few groups which followed the theme, dressed in Egyptians, tributes, and of cos, pirates. Surprisingly, cowboys and cowgirls also appeared in the DnD. I wondered what they do with the theme. Maybe they also enthusiastic in looking for treasure. (perhaps, everyone is interested) 

The DnD started on 7.30pm sharp. Before that, there was some interesting games started on 6.30pm. I didn't play any of those games, because we arrived there a bit late, just on time. 

I was seated in a table with Mr. Lai, KL office directors, zheng hang, sew guan, elaine, yink chou, toh, and Chong Hee. We were extremely self entertaining, with hard liquor since the beginning of the dinner. We enjoyed a lot in the dinner, and i had a great time.

There was also a lucky draw in the event. A total of 40 prizes to be won by all staffs. We were been given a key and a lucky number along with the invitation card. The key is to unlock a treasure chase, with cash money inside. Unfortunately, my key didn't suit the lock, so i gained nothing but just the fun of it. As for the lucky draw, we were disappointed during the announcement for the 10th to 40th prizes cause non of us in the table being chosen as the lucky one. When they started to announced for the top 10 prizes, we were giving high hope to win something. And when the host announced the 7th prize, i heard my number being called. "8349". I was excited and went in front to received the prize. At that time, i didn't even know what i have just won. After i returned to my seat, i found that, i just won myself a LG HiFi System, worth SGD369. Wow, i was great, and this was the first time i being so lucky to get a lucky draw prize. I was a bonus for me. After awhile, when they announced another prize, Elaine's lucky number was called. She won herself a 32" LCD TV! wow, that's great. All of us cheered together and finished the liquor. Everyone was so enjoyed.

犬と私の１０の約束

This morning i went for a movie with friends. Actually we intended to watch The Coffin, but the showing time was abit too late and we decided to give other movie a try, instead of waiting for few hours. And we found a very cute poster on the international screen billboard, a cute doggie picture on the poster. Therefore, "3 adult tickets for 10 Promises To My Dog (犬と私の１０の約束), please."

It was quite nice, very educative, in despite of the story setting, which is kinda typical. You may give this movie a try if you like puppy, especially Golden Retriever.

Below is the synopsis of the movie, sourced from GSC website.

"When 14-year-old Akari (Fukuda Mayuko) finds a Golden Retriever puppy in her backyard, her mother (Takashima Reiko) approves of her keeping the puppy on condition that she never forgets “The 10 Promises” of dog ownership. Together, they name the puppy “Socks” from her white paw markings, and Socks prove to be a faithful and devoted friend to Akari as she goes through many trials during her growing years. However, as time went by and Akari grew up (Tanaka Rena), she slowly forgets about “The 10 Promises”...until one fateful day, when she is cruelly reminded of those of “The 10 Promises” which she did and did not keep with Socks. "

杂乱无章的思路

今天我的脑袋特别的不平静

AUD = SG ??!

I have no idea what had happened lately to the Aussie dollars

Nowadays the exchange rate is so terribly low

I almost couldn't believe it

Last year i still spent thousands of Ringgit just to get 1k AUD

but today

the exchange rate has dropped to  AUD1=RM2.36 which previously is AUD1 = RM3.10

Now

even the Singapore dollars is so more than AUD

S$1 = AUD1.03

so wat for to work Aust and stay so far from home

i work in Singapore and i am earning Aussie dollars equivalently!

i start to love my INCOME in "AUD"!~

Suddenly a stupid thought is coming out of my mind.

I would like to make a statement.

No matter where you are, who you are, what you are doing, u won't be able to escape this 2 things. haha...

Money can come and go very fast. 

But time can only be spent once. 

So spend your time wise.

make sure u get the max benefit from your spent time, just like the way you spend your money.

Thanks for a very nice person from US that i met from youtube. He sent me the score that i wanted for such a long time. And here, i would also like to share the score for 2 songs from the OST Love of Siam. Seriously, both the songs' melody is so touching. You can definitely feel what I'm trying to tell here once you play by yourself. I highly recommended and i think you will like it as much as i do.

当全城都在紧追F1赛车

我却赴了一场新加坡华乐团的音乐响宴

演奏会名称: <华乐逍遥游>

演奏团体: 新加坡华乐团

地点:新加坡 Conference Hall

指挥:关乃忠

独奏家: 李宝顺(二胡),韩雷(管子)

演奏会呈献了精彩的曲目，有：

上半场  -----  祭神,第四二胡协奏曲(世界首演)

下半场  -----  逍遥游(管子协奏曲),西北第一组曲(3和4乐章)

安哥      -----  丰年祭 

在这里大概写写听后感吧 (我不是专业的音乐家,以下纯粹是个人的意见)

1. 祭神  

由于对这首曲子还蛮熟悉,听起来还不赖.可是演奏得有点平平淡淡的,可能这是第一首曲子,大家都还没有热身吧.

2. 第四二胡协奏曲(世界首演)

这曲子是关乃忠老师为新加坡华乐团写的.主要题材是关于汉朝末代的一个人物,蔡文姬.她的背景及故事我不提了,主要是描述她悲惨的一生.

曲子要求二胡8度定弦(g,G), 演奏起来相当吃力,因为时常要一条弦演奏一整个乐句.李老师的演奏还不算是极棒的,但还是有演奏家的水准.由于定弦的关系,高音出不来(定音比原来的二胡定音低了一大度),内弦又松松的,下巴音不是很圆滑,所以听起来有点不舒服.

3. 逍遥游(管子协奏曲)

也是关老师的作品.也是我在这场音乐会最喜爱的作品.韩老师的技术很好,控制一流,很享受他的演出.

第二乐章时,管子的第一句旋律,有点惊喜.因为,是我很喜欢的<牧歌>的旋律.好好听哦...

第三乐章,韩老师演奏得出神入化.其中,在无伴奏之下,他在同一时间演奏2只管子.很赞...

4. 西北第一组曲(3和4乐章)

新加坡华乐团的拿手好曲.不多说了.保持了原有的水准.

5. 安哥   -----  丰年祭 

管老师说,他在20年前应香港的有关当局邀请,务必在5天内创作一首作品.关老师刚好参考了友人送及的一本台湾风俗书籍,结果就创作出<丰年祭>.在台湾首演的时候,深受台湾乐迷的喜爱.就这样,一首赶出来的作品就这样风靡华乐界,成为各大小乐团的必奏的作品.关老师果然是高手.赫赫....

Language freak

Yea...lots of my friends said why i learn so many languages. Despite of Chinese, Malay and English which are compulsory in Malaysia, i also self learnt Korean and recently, Thai. 

I think it is because of my own interest. I am not a good Malay and English speaker, although i learnt them since Kindergarden. Maybe is because of the writing. I love very unique writing, such as the Thai and Korean. I just in love with it and i wish to understand how they form a sentence or phrases by using all the unique writing. 

Another thing is probably, i enjoy studying other people's culture. One of the way is to learn the language and get an idea of the way they speak. I really felt excited if i can communicate in other peoples' languages. This is my intension and because of this, i learn and write. 

Maybe u will ask me, why not French or German or other European languages which have higher commercial value and more practical? Hmm.. what i would said is that, those languages' writing can't impressed me. And personally, i love Asian culture more than others as i grew up in Asian country. I had more passion towards the Asian languages. But maybe i change my mind someday. Who knows? haha...

I think learning a whole new language is not easy. It might takes you a few years before you can really speak like a native speaker. So bare with me. Hopefully i will able to speak in Thai and Korean very soon.

Hot~

Woa...i'm burning hot now. Singapore is really really hot and i sweat almost the whole day even though i stay in my room quietly and listen to ballad. I'm pretty sure it's hotter than KL. And now, even the air from my fan is hot! haaa...i meant it. It's true. 

Yesterday evening, i met up with Meei Yunn, my KL fren at Ang Mo Kio Hub. We planned to go Night Safari as she insisted to go, although i am not so interested. (you know why? because i scare hot! =P) We had dinner in foodcourt (yea...foodcourt again...that's how Singaporeans cure the stomach, mostly.) and wait for the bus at the interchange. 

We reached the Night Safari Garden around 7.30pm. After a long queue to purchase a ticket, we wait for another queue again for an animal show. That show started at 8.30pm. This is the first time i watched animals at night. And tell you what, i didn't really see their faces throughout the show as the place was in dark. haha... funny right? Nevermind, i had fun in the show. Quite a good one, especially the commentator and the staffs. They really good in acting... 

After the show, we spent almost 2 hours to walk the whole garden. We had fun, and we kept pretending we were from Hong Kong as we spoke in Cantonese. Haa... (actually that's my idea, and she just co-operated with me... and i kept spoke in Korean with mixture of Thai and Vietnam language...That's really called Rojak or Bull Shit, whichever you like). 

That's basically what i did last night. And we went home separately after the trip as she stayed in the downtown while i stayed in Ang Mo Kio.  A good experience and not bad for a try.
